What is coproducer?

A studio that makes music with you, and teaches you how.

coproducer.pro is a complete music studio that runs in your browser, with an AI co-producer sitting next to you. Describe what you want in plain English; it lays down the kick, the bassline, the acid line. Every element lands on a timeline you can grab and change by hand. It's built for people who are starting out, and it grows with you into the pro rig.

How we're different

There are a lot of "AI music" tools now. Most sit at one extreme or the other. coproducer is deliberately neither.

✕ Not just a sample helper

We do the whole track

Some plugins are a clever assistant bolted onto a DAW you already own and know how to drive. Great if you're already a producer.

coproducer is the whole studio. Drums, synths, arrangement, mixing, export: you don't need to bring a DAW to the table.
✕ Not a black-box generator

You keep the project

Type-a-prompt-get-a-finished-song tools hand you a stereo file you can't open, can't take apart, and didn't really make.

Every note and knob is editable. Nudge a note, open a filter, export MIDI and stems. It's a real project, and it's yours.
✕ Not a shortcut past learning

We teach as we go

The point isn't to replace you. When the co-producer makes a move, it tells you exactly what it did: "pushed the 303 drive up, opened the resonance", so you learn the desk.

The goal is that you outgrow us for the basics, and keep us as a tool in your pro studio.

Where it takes you

coproducer is designed to be the first studio you ever use, and still be useful on the day you're mixing in Ableton with hardware synced up.

Start

Day one

No gear, no DAW, no theory. Open the browser, describe a track, and hear finished music the same afternoon.

Grow

Learning the craft

You start to see why a change worked, because the co-producer names every move. You reach for the knobs yourself.

Go pro

Into your rig

Export MIDI and stems into any DAW today. Full in-DAW integration is coming in the next few weeks: coproducer as a tool on your pro desk.

Frequently asked questions

The honest answers to what producers actually ask us about the craft, the sounds, and your data.

The basics
What exactly is coproducer.pro?

It's a full music-production studio that runs in your web browser, focused on electronic music: techno, house, trance, hardstyle, drum & bass, old-skool rave and everything around them. Alongside the studio is an AI co-producer: you tell it what you want and it makes the moves, right there on the timeline, while you watch and learn.

Nothing to install. Start free, make finished tracks, export them when you're ready.

Who is it for?

Mainly people who are starting out. You've got ideas in your head and maybe you DJ, but the leap to a full DAW has felt like too much money and too steep a climb. coproducer lets you start making real music today.

It's also genuinely useful for working producers who want to sketch fast, dig samples, or bounce MIDI and stems into their main DAW.

Is it free? What does it cost?

Yes. The Bedroom plan is free, and it's a real studio, not a demo. You get the AI co-producer on our house key, the full instrument set, and songs up to a couple of minutes.

Opener is A$9/month (incl. GST) and lifts you to six-minute songs, priority AI, and MIDI + stem export. More tiers follow as the pro features land. You can also bring your own AI key on the free plan to lift the limits yourself.

The studio & your DAW
Do I need to buy a DAW like Ableton or FL Studio?

No. coproducer is a DAW: sequencer, synths, sampler, mixer and export, all in the browser. For someone starting out, paying for a perpetual DAW licence for software you don't yet know how to use is a big, discouraging ask. We built coproducer so you don't have to make that bet to get going.

When you are ready for a pro setup, you're not locked in: export MIDI and stems into Ableton, Logic, FL Studio, Bitwig or anything else.

Can I export to my "real" DAW?

Yes. Export MIDI (your patterns as notes, to re-voice with your own instruments) and stems (each track as audio) on the Opener plan, and drop them straight into any DAW.

And full DAW integration (running coproducer inside your DAW as a plugin) is on the way in the coming weeks.

Is this "real" production, or a toy?

Real. Every kick, note and filter sits on a timeline you can grab and change. Nothing is baked or hidden. The co-producer works the way a good collaborator does: you ask, it makes the move, and it tells you what it changed in plain terms, so you're learning the instrument, not just pressing a button.

Sounds & samples
Where do the sounds come from?

Three places, all clean:

  • coproducer's own engine: the drums and synths are original DSP instruments we built. Nothing sampled from anyone's records.
  • Freesound: when you want a real-world sample, coproducer searches Freesound, a huge library of sounds released under royalty-free / Creative Commons licences.
  • Your own crate: point coproducer at your own folder of records and it can dig out the break, the stab or the hoover from music you already own.
Can I use my own samples and records?

Yes, that's a core idea. Connect a local folder and coproducer reads the audio you already have, so you can search your own collection by ear ("find the hoover at 2:10 in that Mentasm rip"), trim it to a clean loop, match it to your track's tempo, and sequence it. Your files stay on your device.

Can I release what I make? Who owns it?

You do. We claim no ownership of your music and take no royalties. The synth sounds are ours to give you freely. Freesound samples come under their own Creative Commons licences. Many are free to use, some ask for a credit, so check the licence before a commercial release. Samples from your own records are your responsibility to clear, exactly as they would be in any DAW.

Your data & the AI
Do you use my music to train AI?

No. We don't use your music, your prompts or your projects to train any AI, and we never sell your data. Your projects live in your browser and in files on your device. We don't build a server-side library of your music. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Is the AI trained on other people's copyrighted music?

coproducer's assistant isn't a music-generation model, so it isn't stitching together anyone's recordings. It's a general-purpose large language model (we use Google's) that reads and edits your song as structured text: track names, note positions, knob settings. It decides arrangement and settings; it never ingests or reproduces a copyrighted audio recording.

Every sound you actually hear is synthesised live by our own engine, a royalty-free Freesound sample, or a file from your own library, never audio lifted from someone else's track.

What happens to what I type into the AI?

Your instruction and the song document it acts on are sent to the AI provider (Google Gemini or Groq by default, or a provider whose key you supply) to generate the response, then the result comes back to your browser. These providers are overseas and handle that data under their own terms. We keep a count of how many requests you make to enforce plan limits, not a log of what you asked. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Will AI just do everything for me, so I never learn?

That's exactly the trap we designed against. coproducer is a studio you operate, not a jukebox. The co-producer narrates every change it makes in producer's terms, so over time you understand the moves and start making them yourself. We'd rather you outgrow needing us for the basics than depend on a black box.

Still have a question?

We're a small team and we read everything. Ask us anything, or just open the studio and start.
